The Cult of Fritz Is Not A Cult.

The Cult of Fritz is a group of ordinary people who intend to live in the same physical place as other people who share our common values and goals.

We are proud Americans who believe in our country and its way of life. Members are encouraged - but not required - to belong to a religion of some kind.

We believe in making a specific promise to the people around us and gathering others who will similarly commit - so that we can live in and govern a place with fewer people who are uninterested in making this promise.

We understand that government power - even local governments like cities and counties - can be wielded for both good and evil. We intend to exert influence on the political process to ensure that our interests - and the common good - are protected.

Our “holy text” is just 12 lines of text with five big ideas on which we can build a community where our people thrive. “The Promise” can be found below.

We promise to hold ourselves to the five pillars of Honor, Dignity, Mercy, Truth, and Respect.

Honor refers to the standard we hold ourselves to in every aspect of our lives.

“We strive to do what we know is right - even when it’s hard.”

Dignity refers to the treatment we require from the people and institutions we interact with.

“We will stick up for ourselves - no matter who intends to tread upon us.”

Mercy refers to an allowance for how we’re all going to make mistakes, sometimes big ones, and how it’s important to forgive people when they do.

“We choose to forgive those who hurt us, even if they must face consequences for what they’ve done.”

Truth refers to the willingness to talk about and act on things as we see them, regardless of whether that’s popular or comfortable.

“We say what we believe, and welcome others to do the same - even when we might disagree with them.”

Respect refers to the consideration we give to our neighbors - both inside and outside our community.

“Before we do something, we ask ourselves how the action we take might affect other people.”

We again promise to demonstrate these values in our day to day lives. SO BE IT.
