Here's The Plan...
Taking Power In Tempe AZ For Fun & Profit.
Hey there! Thanks again for filling out the interest form.
I’ve been absolutely slammed since this whole cult project was announced - there’s just so much that I need to do & not a ton of money or attention I can dedicate to delegating the work yet. Talking to investors, answering questions from prospective members, strategizing, legal research… the list goes on.
EVEN SO, I want to keep you in the loop on our mission and where things are at.
For those who haven’t already heard, Loving County is no longer where we’re looking to take power. It’d be a heck of a prize, but there are many challenges around new development and legal risks that make it a bigger project than we can tackle right now.
Instead, we’re going to take over an established city with a population of around 190,000 people - Tempe, AZ - and run it better than the current city council cares to.
We’ll be working with investors to purchase large amounts of real property within the city with the goal of rapidly increasing its value - and the value of all land in the city - using the powers of local government. Cult members & investors will share in the enormous profits we generate when we pull this off.
How We Will Take Power
Only about 12% of Tempe residents - about 23,000 people - tend to vote in city elections.
If we can build an alliance of ~15,000 voters who are committed to seeing our shared vision through, we can elect our people to City Council & will have total control of city government ~forever, which is an unusual and powerful position for a city to be in.
To do this, we’ll recruit thousands of new residents from elsewhere in Arizona and the US, while getting existing residents excited about our grand endeavor in Tempe.
Moving In Cult Members From Elsewhere
We will help interested cult members from elsewhere rent an apartment or (better) buy a home and start laying down roots in Tempe.
We’ll assist members in finding work in the area, and generally encourage them to live normal lives beyond changing where they live & coming to the optional “cult gatherings” (basically just social events) - and, obviously, voting for our preferred candidates.
Getting Existing Residents Excited
We’ll also appeal to existing Tempe residents without using the “cult” joke for branding. By getting ASU students and homeowners excited about the changes we want to make in Tempe, we’ll broaden our political appeal.
We could - for instance - build support by promising to eliminate the city’s property taxes or by bringing back “Fraternity Row” for ASU students who want to party.
An electoral coalition that wins the votes of 15% of ASU students and 35% of home owners is essentially unbeatable in Tempe - even without new supporters moving in.
How Our Residents & Investors Profit
You might be wondering … “That’s nice and all, but what’s in it for me?”.
The simplest answer? Money.
According to the Maricopa County Assessor, all of the property within the City of Tempe is worth upwards of $50 billion. This number will go much, much higher.
If the city were to spend billions rebuilding its countless crumbling neighborhoods and commercial districts - aggressively tearing down the worst structures and restoring the rest, property values would absolutely soar.
This isn’t a priority for the current government, but it would be a top priority for us. Before - and as - we take power, though, we’d start a company with ownership shared between our members - both established locals and new movers.
Then, we’d partner with investors to raise $ and have that company buy as much real property in Tempe as we can, later splitting the enormous profits on the property appreciation we force between residents and investors.
Direct shared ownership in the city’s real estate will help encourage both existing locals and new movers to support our aims as we make big changes to benefit the city and ourselves.
I have a lot of work ahead of me this week - meeting with potential investors & recruiting key members. If I can’t get back to you promptly, I apologize in advance.
One big thing you can do to help us pull this off is to tell your friends and family about what we’re trying to do and convince them to sign up for the interest form.
We are going to build an awesome city with awesome people - and make a lot of money along the way. SO BE IT.
